Beach Provincial Team Program

• PEI GREEN
 

o The GREEN program is focused on the development of beach performance. The selected athletes will participate in weekly training as well as regional and national competition if the teams decide. The focus will be on introducing athletes to the on and off court skills needed to perform at a national level. 
 
§ Eligibility: Athletes born _________
 
§ Athlete Numbers:
• 6-8 female athletes in 1 training group, 3-4 competition teams
• 6-8 male athletes in 1 training group, 3-4 competition teams
 
• Training & Competition:
 
 Training:  2x week at Terry Fox Complex beach volleyball courts in Cornwall
 
Competitions (optional):  Provincial Leagues & Tournaments, Regional Tournaments; Volleyball Canada Beach Nationals – August 16-18, Toronto ON.
 

• PEI BLACK
 

o The BLACK program is focused on the development of athletes who are beginning their beach pathway journey. The selected athletes will participate in weekly training and compete at selected events if they decide to compete.  The focus will be on introducing athletes to the on and off court skills needed to perform at a regional level. 
 
§ Eligibility: Athletes born ________
 
§ Athlete Numbers:
 
• 6-10 female athletes in 1 training group, 3-5 competition teams
• 6-10 male athletes in 1 training group, 3-5 competition teams
 
• Training & Competition:
 
Training: 1x week at Terry Fox Complex beach volleyball courts in Cornwall ;

COST:  Beach Provincial Team – Selected Athletes - Training:
 
§ PEI GREEN – Cost: Approx. $500/player.  This includes: 2x weekly training for 10 weeks with certified beach coach, use of VPEI equipment, facility rental costs, VPEI clothing, administration & coach honorariums. 
*Any league or tournaments are optional and costs will be additional.
 
§ PEI BLACK – Cost: Approx. $250/player.  This will include 1x weekly training for 10 weeks with certified beach coach, use of VPEI equipment, facility rental costs, VPEI clothing, administration & coach honorariums.  
*Any league or tournaments are optional and costs will be additional.
